Namgar Moscow Russia Mongolian Music at Vancouver Folk Music Festival 2010

July 17, 2010

Incredible! Namgar Lhasaranova Evgeniy Zolotarev, performs music from her ancient nomadic traditions of Southern Siberia and Buryat-Mongolia. Folk songs about Moscow Russia and Mongol legends, fairytale beauties, epic heroes, and horse racers hurling across vast highland plateaus. Namgar, this Russia ethnic group played with chanza, a 3-stringed Mongol lute, flutes, drums and other percussion instruments for free at Tom Lee Music on Granville on July 16, 2010 as part of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival 2010.

I had time that afternoon last weekend so I decided to cover it. I was glad I did. Thank you for lending the space at your downtown store so the people of Vancouver could enjoy a group like Namgar.
